I got some models for the canal and the bridge! The concept art is what it should look like eventually. This is also a big step up from the boring square floor of the earlier prototypes.
So a while back I had a version of the game with a funny bug. The hitboxes and push animation were slapped together to get something out as fast as possible. The hitboxes interacted in such a way that when you pushed somebody they would sometimes get launched like 20 feet into the air. And it was hilarious. It's not a bug anymore, it's a feature. But sometimes you would push someone and nothing would happen.
So I fixed the flaky hitboxes, which also accidentally fixed the sometimes-yeeted feature. And while the game was still fun, I noticed that people weren't laughing as much. So of course we have to fix that, right? That's where my good friend ragdoll comes in.
Ragdoll's a funny guy, a real hoot. As soon as I put him in my game I started laughing uncontrollably. So he's here to stay. The force seems... a bit much. But it's hilarious, so I'll let you decide ;)
My next priority is to enable local multiplayer so that people can push each other around on one device with no internet connection. That'll make it a lot easier to demo the game in post-COVID settings. It'll be great to see people play the game together in person!
