v1.1.0 - The post-jam update

Escaping Atlantis
A browser game made in HTML5

We've been crossing out a few items on our list of stuff we wanted to implement before moving on to new projects. The project is from now considered "passive development" and may or may not receive further updates.

Changelog:

  • Added checkpoints - every time the player gets to a fountain of Poseidon, they will receive a respawn point, up to four. When dying, the player will restart in the last fountain if they have respawn points.
  • Added sound when collecting score
  • Added pause menu
  • Fixed bug causing monsters to rotate weirdly around corners
  • Score drops will indicate when they are close to despawning
  • Player will flash red on taking damage
  • Enemies will flash when taking damage
  • Fixed bug causing monsters to occasionally respawn where they where killed
  • Added effect on beam braking due to obstacles
  • Locked resolution and aspect ratio to fix various issues
  • Smoother room transitions
  • Modified beam effects
  • Character will no longer rotate towards cursor when beam is active
  • Fixed bug causing the responder to sometimes fly out of bounds
  • Beam now correctly hits all enemies in its path
  • Added small delay to scoredrops before they can be picked up
  • Added post-processing
