Devlogs
Audio, visuals and balancing
I decided to update Mortar Lumberjack, which was my entry for the Trijam #137 and update the game to be more complete. The original entry will still be available to download, but the browser playable version will be the most up to date one. I stuck to the idea of making everything in this game by myself, including the music and sounds.
Audio:
- Added shooting sound
- Added impact sound for normal logs
- Added impact sound for rotten logs
- Added jumping sound
- Added two pieces of background music
- Added winning jingle
Visuals:
- Updated the ground texture
- Added moving clouds to the background
- Added shot impact particles
- Added muzzle flash and smoke particles to the mortar
- Added a sound mute indicator to the top right corner
Balancing:
- You now always only hit one piece of log at a time (in the past sometimes two logs would be destroyed, which felt not as precise and rewarding)
- Added a little cooldown period between shots which improves gameplay, but should not be noticed that much
- You now need less good logs to win
Features:
- Added a sound toggle (activates/deactivates all sounds and music)
Have fun!
