This is a big one: the new, shiny EMUUROM demo is finally here! It's named
0.3.6 - Kotilomamma [co-tay-loh mama]
The latest release in Itch.io before this was version 0.1.i, so obviously there's been a LOT happening since. What exactly?
NEW FEATURES
- New intro cutscene
- New short scene when starting new game
- Some new EMUUROM and EMUUROM forms
- New controls for gamepad
- The Red interloper appears
- New room in Puijjo Plateau
- Area introduction text
- The same SALAVIA can be used for consecutive saves
- Ilivesilives is even more fabulous now
- A way to reset Kotilomas that have gotten stuck
- A gathering of Hattus????
- New entry texts for many EMUUROM and signposts
- New song in Lehto
- Level design fine-tuning everywhere
- New EMUUROM pronunciation guide in EMUUDEX (hold JUMP button)
OPTIMIZATIONS
- Update to TIC-80 0.90
- Better performance overall
- "Close game" option gone from pause menu
- Profiler included for finding frame drops. Press F to see FPS
- A huge optimization with a new grid system for calculating collisions
- Scanning greatly optimized
- Particle system slightly optimized, number of particles reduced in some cases
- EMEX entry UI drawing optimized + made less flickery
ADJUSTMENTS
- LEHTO biome is now KANGAS
- Some sfx volumes adjusted
- Removed the "moving shadow" when scanning
- overhauled EMUUDEX screen
- overhauled MAP screen with added legend
- text hilighting added for important words
- After EMUUROM gets scanned, music melody does not go silent anymore
- Scan shader rectangle now adapts to EMUUROM size (see: clouds, Salamon)
- EMUUROM save indexing reformatted (breaks old saves)
