Godstone dev log 3: Introducing Meris

Once a citizen of Virithian itself, the High Vivian Meris studied and mastered the art of neferin magick alongside the Vivian King. As an ancient being, sprouted from the world tree itself, Meris uses neferin magick to sustain her immortality. As a vivian, she is a prime target of the Siratic Order who wishes her race extinct. After the fall of Virithian, she has survived in the wilds, communing with the gods, searching for a way to get revenge. And she has found it.

With the Masters of Eptora as her new allies, she will aid them in bringing down the Siratic Order. But make no mistake, Meris has her own plans for this world, and they do not bold well for the future of humanity.

As Meris, you wield the formless power of neferin magick from the Godstone itself. Call down destructive forces upon your enemies, and spread the dark taint across the battlefield to sap the life out of the living. With your raven familiar Xilean, you are able to curse groups of enemies with powerful crowd controls, making Meris one of the most diverse characters in the game.

Certain neferin spells deal bonus damage to enemies afflicted with the taint and other curses, and if an afflicted one dies, they spread the taint to those nearby like a disease.

Through various items, neferin magick can even form combos with frost and fire magick, resulting in devestating effects!
