v0.1.4 -- New shop, intro skip, refactoring
This is another minor release of Taking the Tower while I continue to get the game refactored and into a more maintainable state.
The observable changes are:
- Added a changelog to the downloadable version of the game.
- Added a placeholder settings menu which currently only shows the game's version number. Expect volume sliders eventually.
- Redid the credits screen to show the full text of all licenses.
- Stopped the title animation from replaying each time you returned to the title screen.
- Added a "skip intro" button to the title screen.
- Added a new shop: the Eroticist. You can spend experience points at his shop to improve your maximum edging time. Your default edging limit is reduced to make up for this.
- Fixed a bug where potions and bombs weren't actually lost upon game-over, even though the UI said they were.
Behind the scenes there was a huge amount of refactoring. All the source files and resources have been rearranged into what is hopefully a more logical system. There's still some stuff I'm not happy about, but it's a lot better. I also made the player character and all enemies inherit from a common parent class to avoid duplication of my pathfinding logic.
