Triangulate was inspired by a desire to produce a tile matching game that balanced the immediate need of securing the best score that turn with the long term strategy of working the board.
Development started in July 2021 and the main challenge was the back end code for the game grid such that an AI could easily be written.
I had four aims for Triangulate:
The entire game was completed in about 11 days and I was surprised by this. A game without the unity canvas is really easy to do as long as you decide on the scale and rough position of things from the start.
The hardest part of making the game was actually the artwork for the tile. It changed so many times from the initial concept as every time I wasn't quite happy with the look. It had to be easy to read, especially with the corner shapes added (limited to a rotational symmetry of 60 degrees).
Nothing really. All good for this game.

Onwards to the next game.
