Just finished up the second demo!
For one, it addresses a lot of game-breaking bugs, but it also has a Settings menu which I couldn't get in the first demo. There are now control bindings, display settings, and audio levels. I also overhauled the saving system for functional game storage, and standardized the UI buttons. Overall it's just way more presentable than Demo 1, and I feel better attempting to show it to people.
Some unexpected difficulty implementing Settings caused a few items to slip down to the next demo, like a new level and a new system for adding or removing lanes. Also, I had a good idea for improving Driver's Ed that I'm going to try out in the next update.
Past that, a major piece of technical debt is the Passenger system. Ed is a very crude version, but the plan is to allow players to choose family, friends, and pets to join them on trips. Passengers will be able to have conversations, require their own food, and some will even help drive.
