I now have to weeks of vacations so I resumed the work on Shrine Maiden Shizuka.
The first thing I did was to adapt the game to the new SGDK 1.65. It was not without efforts, but it did fix some important bugs. I completely rewrote the scrolling and map code to benefit from the recent improvements to the MAP_* functions.
Now the game scrolls very well, without slowdowns. Also the bug about the column of tiles appearing at the wrong place is gone.
It's a good thing that the game code becomes smaller as SGDK matures.
Ravancloak also sent me some great background music that I included in the game.
There are still crashes when we transit from a map to another, and I need to fix this before I can port an updated demo.
