The game's name is descriptive enough to tell you what we are trying to accomplish. Tactical Bullet Hell Shooter. We are aiming to find the sweet spot with movement, battle, and strategy.
The Controls system has been changed. Buttons have been dedicated to 3 different item slots each with a capacity of 2. Clicking while equipped deploys those items.
More movement options have been introduced. Dash is bound to a button and allows more movement options for the player. This increased the options a player has to move about quickly to avoid being ambushed and/or cornered.
We have made some updates to the U.I. However mostly it stays the same. Some spacing here and there and new textures to represent the items and weapons. We also want to introduce character portraits and drawing to enhance the visuals. However, we have not done this yet.
I've worked so hard to finalize the animation workflow of this project and I'm pleased to say that I think I've finally found the correct workflow solution to get the effect I want. The Character is separated into 3 parts. The Legs, Body, and Gun. It is done like this to maintain a sense of real movement when your character looks and walks around. Also, this is to allow more customization options to the player.
Animations are bound to certain actions and are being developed so that they are unique to the character you are playing. Thus far there are only two characters in the game however Much more are planned for when the game is finally released.
We changed the way the game handles data to support an update-friendly environment. We plan to release DLC for the game so how we handle data is important. Also, we needed to think about security for the longevity of the game. So we implemented features to avoid potential exploits.
The Gateway and Authentication servers are ready for launch, however, we will not be launching multiplayer in this build as we still need to make major decisions on how we are supporting the infrastructure and also how we handle data.
