Oh snap, pretty much a big update I came up with while designing the "more-maps" version :)
A word of warning: if you don't want a clean install, reset the shader cache in the config utility at least, or the new lighting will not work!
I drove home this friday, somewhat exhausted, and a stray thing caught my eye. The wet speculars! Unlike I expected, they actually become sharper with distance (incidence angle in fact), not just stretch out (which used to look somewhat flat in my case)! An hour of trying out some different materials at home for reference, and a somewhat random math did the trick (before you ask why not just use the Blinn's one, it is both not only somewhat inaccurate, cutting off once too much, but also the area lighting I used doesn't really work in that case). Probably would be neat to tweak the materials later, but looks cute to me nevertheless (especially in VR/stereo)...
