This week at Mutant, medium fishing tests are finally here!
Weekly Dev Update #55
Week of July 5th, 2021
Hey everyone! I’m back (Nick), took a week to visit my family and get my summer bearings. After our short breaks, we’re back to work. Our little project is coming along at a good pace and it’s time to polish a new Demo.
ALPHA TESTING IMMINENT
Right now, we’re focused entirely on getting Medium Fishing to a point where we’re happy with it. It’s been a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and internal testing and discussions. Zach has been an unstoppable force in building this mechanic from the group up and Jeff’s support on the technical side has been massive. They’ve both spent the last few weeks getting special visual and sound effects (as you might’ve seen in last week’s update) and now the whole picture is coming together!
These Alpha tests are very focused, so you’ll only be experiencing the exact feature we want feedback on (so it’s not like getting the game for free) but you do get to be a crucial part of improving the project and you get our undying love forever! <3
DISCORD FOR ALPHA
The next step for Medium Fishing is gathering feedback from our Alpha Testers. It’s an exclusive little group on our Discord server - BUT you can join in on the fun with just a few clicks! We can’t link it directly here, but if you find our Twitter @MutantStudios, it’s in our profile description. From there, you can request to be given the Alpha Tester role and be first in line to see new features as they roll out. We’re planning to get a lot more “aggressive” with how often we post updates or go out for feedback, so be sure to check in often!
TIK TOK, TIK TOK
We’re expanding our social media presence a bit and dipping our toes into TikTok. Our resident expert is our artist, Sarah, so she’ll be leading the charge into this platform. You can expect short expeditions into our development process, first looks at art, and plenty of wacky buggy shenanigans.
