The first Release Candidate of Kanakan Stories Vol. 1 is out!
I essentially decided that I've done all the polishing of content that I want to do, and it's time to release. A summary of things I've improved since the last upload:
- Reworked all music tracks with better instruments
- Improved cobblestone textures and townspeople
- Added some easter eggs / branching opportunities
- Changed dialogue
- Added ending credits
I could spend the rest of my life polishing the game and never be satisfied. And some of you will note that a lot of things look amateurish; I'm a programmer, and there's only so much I can do without paying a full team. But I have it to a place where I'm comfortable with the result.
What I'm still not sure about, and would love feedback on, is anything that is really a blocker from finishing the game. Technical issues on certain platforms, things that are very confusing, or bugs that prevent you from moving forward. I've played it a million times so I know how to get through, but I'd like the average first-time player to be able to get through it as well!
