In Her Own Hands v0.5.3a (public) and Patron Walkthrough Released

The new version of In Her Own Hands (version 0.5.3a) is now available to the public!

This update is primarily focused on Becca's bisexuality. In addition to several statistical adjustments, we have added an entirely new sequence of events with Becca interacting with a woman as a potential sexual partner. These events lead to the first sex scene between Becca and a woman. We also slightly adjusted earlier scenes so that encounters with men were all optional and/or easily avoidable. While Becca clearly begins the game in a relationship with a man, we always intended to allow her to explore different aspects of her sexuality, including scenes where she begins exploring her bi-curious side. Eventually, we would like there to be enough content for a player to engage exclusively with women sexual partners. This update represents the start of that path.

This commitment also begs the question of how to address bisexuality or lesbian relationships in a respectful and sensitive manner. The last thing that we wanted to do was to completely fetishize wlw relationships. Hopefully, with the new content in this update, we have been successful in this goal.

The second major change included in this are the aesthetic changes to the game as a whole. These will be noticed as soon as you open the game. Refining the appearance of the game is as important to the eventual finished product as the content and the gameplay/interface, but these last two aspects were a higher priority. We decided that now was the time to develop the appearance a bit more. Most likely we will continue to refine the appearance in the same way that we continue to refine earlier content and aspects of the gameplay. But this update is a huge step forward.

As usual, when loading a save from a previous version, remember to update the save so that all new variables are initialized. Beginning with this version, we decided to break the Update Save function out of the TitKok app. When we first introduced the app, we did not even have a functioning phone, and doubling the TitKok app with a function seemed to be a fun way to incorporate both. Separating the two now allows us to eventually expand the TitKok app to be more interactive and tied to other content, which was always part of the plan. To update your save from here on out, just click the Update Save button in the left sidebar.   As always, if you find any errors or bugs that managed to sneak past us, please post them in the #Bug-Reporting board on Discord, message us through Patreon, or email us at bugs@surprisedelightme.com. Changelog, v0.5.3a (no spoilers)

Plot development:

• A series of events leading to Becca’s first sexual experience with a woman (it is now also possible to play entirely as a lesbian, and even lose her virginity to a woman)
• A sexual encounter with an intriguing new man (the first of what will be a new “quest” in future versions)

Major changes/additions:

• Completely dismantled and re-worked the Halloween party, including more freedom of action while at the party and several new scenes and images
• Added a “Ladies’ Night” to the bar, when Becca is either working or just drinking (sets up future scenarios)
• Adjusted the events with Tyler in the bar to make them avoidable and more accurately reflect their relationship statistics
• Refined entire series of events with Jasmynn, including changing how first one-on-one meeting triggers, relationship statistics for her “girls” and the first date, added a hint about the business card
• Added several new selfies to the phone in various clothing choices, added ability to make some of them her phone background; added “standard” text messages with Emily and Abby that are not tied to events; updated and refined the Text Message Archive
• Added several new records; embedded Spotify players and links for all records when listening alone or with Bobby
• Added new “splash page” and title page; added backgrounds for all scenes
• Refined the CumPoints system to more accurately record experiences during events; adjusted statistics for learning skills and preferences; fixed bug where CumPoints status bar did not reset when Becca came; added that when Becca does not come, her Arousal statistic is affected
• Removed the “Update Saves” function out of the TitKok app to a stand-alone menu item in the side bar
• Added a button to “Save current outfit” to the Wardrobe

Minor changes/additions/bugfixes:

• Added several new wardrobe-based images around town (walking uptown/downtown, at park)
• Refined code and statistics when watching “adult entertainment”
• Added Bobby’s girlfriend Scarlett to the relationship page
• Updated Progress Tracker/Hints for all paths
• Adjusted scene where James first appears to end entire path and to avoid ride home so that you can just return Downtown
• Added drunk status to all older scenes where she is drinking (with Abby, roommates, etc.)
• Added ability to “Keep hanging with Shaun” rather than having to leave and return
• Fixed bug with appearance of drunk status in sidebar
• Made sleep more restful so that more Energy returns with fewer hours of sleep
• Fixed numerous typos/grammatical errors and minor conditional bugs throughout the game
