Hello everyone! It's been a while since I wrote one of these devlogs, so I wanted to let you know how progress on our second build is coming along and share some new screenshots with our wonderful fans! (but not too many! don't want to spoil all the fun, after all!)
Like I said in previous devlogs, this comic is taking far longer to finish than we originally expected, but you'll be glad to know that we're almost done coloring every page! We're aiming to release the new 2.0 Patreon Build on the 7th of this month, though it could still be delayed by a couple of days should the last few panels prove more challenging than expected. Either way, the Public Build should be out around a week after the Patreon Build is made available: if everything goes well, you should be able to play it next Sunday, on the 13th!
The 2.0 Build will finally feature the polished and colored comic in its entirety, on top of all the additions already made available in the 1.9 Build we released a while back! You can already look at all the finished pages so far and play the almost-finished 1.9 Build (which doesn't feature the comic in full-color) by subscribing to our Patreon!
I'm still busy getting ready for my exams which, if all goes well, I should be able to rid myself of within the month. That means that Build 3 won't feature any new story content, although you'll be glad to know it'll definitely be released sometime next month for sure. Like we stated a while back, Build 3 will bring tons of new Quality Of Life improvements, like:
We're also starting to work on an in-game glossary with the help of our new team member ItsHypers: since the game is full of terms that not everybody was able to understand at first (like Yuuman, Video-News, MAG-Train...) and which might not get a full explanation in-game due to their normalization within the world of the VN, I decided to implement a glossary that'll help you discover the lore for each of these special words as you encounter them in-game, with new information being unlocked as you progress in certain cases! It might not be ready by the time Build 3 comes out, but it is one of the many things we're working to implement in the future.
And, speaking of new team members, the developer of The Blue Cloth, Eymon, was responsible for creating the music you'll hear during the new comic sequence! Be sure to give his novel a read: it's short (and a little lewd), but it's definitely got the potential to become a great VN! I'd also like to thank Melo from Psychic Connections (which you guys should also check out if you have the time) for helping us figure out how to code the comic sequence itself! Thanks again, friend! ^w^
That's about all I wanted to talk about! Again, my apologies for Build 2's numerous delays: we learned our lesson, and our future updates will be much, much smoother and more consistent. We hope that the end result of our work and dedication will be enjoyable to you all!
