I've been making games as a hobby since I was about 5 years old. Board games, card games, and (especially) RPGs. When I was in my teens, I created a full blown RPG that I played with my friends: 60+ handwritten pages plus my own illustrations. My friends actually requested to play it in lieu of AD&D and our other usual go-to games. However, my games never went beyond my close circle of childhood friends. Along came college and then, well, life. And that was the end of my gaming.
Fast forward 40+ years and I began collecting board games as well as started trying my hand again at designing my own games. Another couple years and a pandemic later, I got back into playing RPGs (this time online) and discovered the creative content on itch.io. "Itch" was apropos because the other creators on the platform inspired me: I wanted to scratch that itch again--to make my own RPG. However, I couldn't see anything through to the end.
For whatever reason, this past weekend I told myself enough was enough. I gave myself a two-page limit (to keep it manageable) and 48 hours to finish a solo RPG and post it to itch.io. A Good Death was the result.
I hope folks find it enjoyable, and I look forward to getting some feedback that I can carry forward to my next project.
Best,
TS
