Status Update

Kingdom Lost
A downloadable game for Windows, Linux, and Android

 I had to pause Kingdom Lost’s development the previous month since I didn’t get the required assets in time and it also looked like I wasn’t going to get them any time soon. So today I decided to explain the situation a bit.

 For a long time we are both having hard times in our lives, we both felt a huge pressure to earn money for a long time besides many other issues in our personal life. To be honest, our lives are full of shit and escaping this life I had was the biggest motivation for me since the beginning. 3 years ago I started developing this game without zero knowledge of any kind of game development and anything related. I’d stay awake for 2 days doing nothing but work. It was suffocating and highly inefficient, but that was the result of the stress I was under. I was fully aware that I wasn’t going to accomplish my goals in a short amount of time so I bit my tongue and continued.

 So I fully understand what ShySeel is going through. A little clarification, she’s my wife and I’m doing my best to support her. Even though it’s been 2.5 years since she started working on Kingdom Lost, she felt the pressure every day, just like I did. I can’t blame her for not being able to catch up to her deadlines, she’s been exhausting herself for 2.5 years just like I did, except I found a way to cope with the situation somewhat. It’s only normal that she burned out. I told her to take her time before coming back to the project and also she’s welcome to leave the project if this isn’t what she wants to do.

 I want to go into a stable development process and I also want to see her enjoy working on this project as much as me and our other members. For her, Kingdom Lost’s and our future projects wellbeing, I’d like her to take her time off as much as she needs before she gets back to work. Payments will be paused until we release an update.


 Since we won't be releasing an update for a while, I started adding touch screen and mouse support everywhere. I didn't have any proper framework that supports all 4 different type of inputs before, so it takes time and I think this is a good chance to finally add that. I'm also separating load, options and key bindings menu so they'll work like just like how they work in main menu in game, players won't have to go to main menu for those menus.
