#progress report
April is almost through, and that means it’s time for another progress report! This month I’ve focused a lot on making more artwork for the world and importing/animating some of the hairstyles I showed off last month.
In the last update I showed off some clothes and hair styles that I had concepted. I’m happy to report that many of them have made it into the game and some NPCs have even started using the new clothes and hair! Some of the new styles can be chosen from a barber shop, so make sure to check that out once the patch goes live!
Because of this work, I’ve also made some visual changes to the barber shop interface, along with a variety of fixes and code improvements. Performance should also be slightly better while browsing for a new style.
I’ve prototyped more on the boss mechanics for the Cafror temple boss and it’s nearing a stage where I feel happy with how to fight it. I don’t have much to show here just yet, but probably for the next Progress Report, so stay tuned for that.
The Aslary dungeon is almost complete, with only a few tweaks remaining on the boss encounter. I aim for this to be the first dungeon available as a testbed, while the remaining three should all come in the same update sometime later.
The dungeon in Usmor is also almost complete, except for the boss fight which I’ve barely begun working on. The fight mechanics are completed, but it’s lacking animation and extra juicyness to make it feel good.
The last dungeon, found in Sedresh, still hasn’t got any work done on it except for some concepting of the boss encounter and a basic style guide.
Apart from what is mentioned here, I have primarily been working more on the systems explained in the previous post with the ship stuff taking up the most time. I should have more to show off next month!
