Updates of the last year
During the last year two releases were published and a lot has changed.
Most of these changes are related to the visuals of the game, but there also were some technical changes.
- Cubyz is now using 3D chunks which means that the world height is practically infinite.
- Biomes have been reworked and mountains are much higher now.ä
- Cubyz now uses LOD to display far terrain. The effective render distance is around 5000 blocks on regurlar hardware.
- There is an Addon system that allows you to add your own content to the game.
- More block types: stackable blocks and fences
- More blocks, biomes and more
- Cubyz now has a launcher that downloads the game and its dependencies. You can even play older versions.
- The game files are now stored in $HOME/.cubyz instead of being in the same folder as the executable.
- And
of course a lot of bug fixes and performance improvents.
