SLK_img2pixel version 1.1 has been released! This is a small update adding some convenience features. Most notably, there now finally is support for creating an optimized palette from an image.
In the Save/Load tab you can now find a slider you can use to specify an image scale. The exported image will be scaled by this factor.
You can now change the default settings of SLK_img2pixel. Simply put a preset file called default.json in the directory of the executable. SLK_img2pixel will then load these settings at startup.
SLK_img2pixel now supports the automatic creation of a palette from an image. In the Palette tab you can now find a new button and slider.
With the colors slider you can specify the amounts of colors to use at max. After pressing the Generate Palette button SLK_img2pixel will try to extract the most important colors from the image and create a palette from them. The algorithm used is not perfect, but it works quite well on most images. Here are some examples:
