1.0.1.0 - Big Improvements
A truckload of improvements based on player feedback, this patch will make the game more accessible, intuitive and just a better experience in general.
Core Changes
- Picking up a new item causes your current equipped item to drop on the floor, you can no longer permanently lose an item by picking something up
- Loot pickup and interact prompts now appear by simply walking up to an item, you no longer need to "aim" the camera directly towards the item
- Intuitive tutorial messages for all the actions and concepts the player isn't executing and realizing on their own
Balancing
- Rebalanced all mythic items from being too overpowered
- Rebalanced early game enemies to be more fair
- Rebalanced Time Attack and Very Hard modes to be a little bit easier, enemies deal less damage, have less health and the time limits have more leeway
- First couple dungeons have more enemies in them
User Interface
- HUD now shows an objective text that tells what exactly you have to do at any given time, whether it's seeking an exit or slaying a specific number of enemies, it also keeps track of how many enemies you've already killed in a dungeon
- Booting up the game for the first time causes a create-a-character widget to appear, no need to browse into the character selection menu anymore
- Trying to enter the Reaper Monastery without proper quest items now displays a text that tells you you're missing the required key
- If you're looking at a relic that you already own, a "you already have this relic equipped" text shows up on the prompt
- Settings menu can be closed by clicking the settings button again
- Reworded the quest description of Lifelong Catacomb to be more comprehensive
- Compendium can no longer be opened inside gameplay to avoid confusion and getting hit while browsing it
- All the menus are more user friendly to navigate through, ESC backs out from any open menus
Misc.
- Fixed an oversight where a new character would start with a shield that had no defensive attributes in it
- If a dungeon has no specific end game objective item, you beat the dungeon by tracking your steps back to the door/stairs you originally came from
- Lifelong Catacomb now uses a different dungeon set
- Compendium can now be opened in world map
Try it out, tell me what you think, any feedback is highly valuable, cheers!
