#game design
A few days ago, I've bumped into this article which questions why adding is favored over subtracting in problem solving. After I have decided to "fix" TAS, I started to think about what I should add to the game. There came, of course, many many ideas to my mind. But I've never thought about removing features from a game.
I now think about removing all the levels and making the game endless. I also plan to remove the shop screen and instead, I plan to add a spinner, something like a slot machine. So the ship can be upgraded every few waves with only a small disruption. Another possibility for the upgrades is spawning them randomly during the game. This is an old-school and a simple approach but it can be very useful.
