Inspired by some elements from Brittany's 1D game called Poison she made last semester, we brainstormed and came up with a medieval theme game. The design concept is a knight going up the castle, fighting wizard/avoiding obstacles along the way, and ultimately reaching the top of the castle to save the princess to win. We checked in with each other, communicating on the specific visual aesthetics that we want to have, the main goal for the player, and deciding on general flow of the game together via Adobe Cloud Library system for sharing sprites and Sourcetree/Bitbucket for sharing Unity files. After having the key figures developed, such as the player (knight), enemy (wizard), scene visuals, we added different elements to each level scenes ( ex. platforms will be introduced in level 2, and moving platforms in level 3), to further develop the experience of playing the game.
Brainstorming:
Game goal:
knight fighting his way up the castle to save the princess.
Player control:
Level elements:
Notes from beta play testing:
Keeping the feedbacks in mind, we developed other levels, 2 and 3, and incorporated platform and knight shooting elements to the game.
