Visual Displays - People always find a visual display more interesting than a text one. This can be done through showing a picture or a video with a video being the most engaging option (Herzog, 2019). It is much more likely to draw the attention of someone scrawling past if there is a video especially if it is of high quality. Displaying video of your game cam be detrimental if the quality is low however if you have faith in your product it will likely do a good job promoting it to users who are interested in the subject matter.
Timing - Timing is everything, if you’re trying to promote a small product releasing a trailer at the same time as a massive release would be foolish. You will be completely overshadowed and will not be able to garner much attention. However, if there is a popular subject going around you can try and spin your product into a post about that which will help generate some interest.
Viral Marketing – This is an attempt to get people to share your product online of their own free will (Fraile, 2020), this can be done by having a funny image video or post towards it that can be shared through memes. Viral marketing can be a very great way of sharing your product however it can be misinterpreted and even bring a poor stigma to your creation (Fraile, 2020). People can re-contextualise what you’ve created and use it for malicious intent, which will likely bring a bad stigma to your product. So viral marketing can be a risky manoeuvre however when done well it can pay off.
