someone suggested in the comments I'd might like to look into RealtimeCSG instead of ProBuilder, so I watched a few tutorials on that tonight, looks nice! and a bit more intuitive than ProBuilder - will take a swing at it this weekend! for now I'm just gonna make a few level-design sketches in bed and call it a day :)
