BRIGHTHAMMER updates!
Wow. I have been absolutely overwhelmed with the reception BRIGHTHAMMER has received. I didn't think so many people would be interested in my game, so a big thank you to Gayhalforc for making Sledgehammer and for running the SledgeJammer game jam. BRIGHTHAMMER wouldn't exist without them. And a big thank you to everyone who's bought, downloaded, and commented on the game. Your enthusiasm has helped kick me out of a recent productivity slump, and motivated me to keep working on BRIGHTHAMMER – I've already got a few ideas for supplements and expanded rules booklets past the upcoming GM Guide and Bestiary.
Since BRIGHTHAMMER's initial release (which was rather rushed) I've had some time to update and refine a few things, mostly cosmetic, and wanted to quickly go through them:
- The itch page has gotten a cosmetic overhaul – it looks much nicer now, and matches the pages of the booklet.
- The cover of the Player Handbook was updated to say "Player Handbook" – although the GM Guide and Bestiary will have different cover illustrations, I thought it was important to clearly label what each booklet was. Future booklets will follow this format.
- The character sheet on page 2 of the Player Handbook has been fixed – it now has a six-space wound tracker along the bottom. The lack of a wound tracker in the initial release was causing some confusion about how damage worked, and hopefully this clears things up.
- There's an additional effect for spending a segment of Fate – reducing a point of damage from an attack.
- I've uploaded both screen (low resolution) and print (high resolution) versions of the PDF files.
- To accommodate people who don't use internationally sized paper (you barbarians), I've uploaded a letter-sized version of the pocketmod file – in both screen and print resolutions.
Once I finish the GM Guide and Bestiary (which are both coming along nicely), I think I'll have to organize the PDFs into .zip files. Otherwise there's just going to be too many files listed on the page, which will be confusing.
Again, a big thank you to everyone who's bought, downloaded, and commented on BRIGHTHAMMER. I'm excited to keep developing this game, and that's something I haven't I honestly haven't felt in a while. <3
