For my college graded unit project, I am developing is a 3D first-person survival game “Jurassic Survival”. The game is being developed using Unity. The player needs to find time machine parts around the island to build a time machine. The player needs to survival on the island while trying to rebuild the time machine.
Marketing the game is an important part of the development process because the market for games is growing and becoming more oversaturated. For Indie developers to get their game to sell and survive on the market, they need to promote their game in unique and creative ways, so they are not overshadowed by the AAA game studios. Most people these days will have a mobile phone or computer, so marketing the game to them is important. Many new developers need time to refine their craft, and the games that are released can get little attention, because they did not have good marketing, or the game was not good. These game usually did not make a lot of money (DellaFave, 2014).
Marketing your game will help your game stand out from other indie game and will draw potential customers. If you release your game and you do not market the game, it will be lost in the countless other indie games, it will not matter if your game is good.
