The crafting system now crafts items using scriptable objects in Unity. This allows me to make several items in the inventory system in a quicker fashion.
I'll still need to get the matching 3d models, make the icons and code the individual uses for each item. It may seem like a lot, but at this point I welcome the more fun creative portion of this project compared to the high focus on code I've had lately.
The project kind of makes itself at these points sometimes too. I think some games are even centered solely around combining items together right?
Trust me. This inventory system had so many small user experience breaking bugs that I patched everything that was remotely annoying to make it fool proof.
