So, it was round about.. 2016.. ish? And I'd been wondering on how to make a game, not a REAL game, but to get me started, ROBLOX. I learned lua and I stuck to it for 5 YEARS, but then I decided I needed to move on from making games on ROBLOX and only getting a few hundred views.
I remembered something which I still had, but always got stuck on "UNITY", so I searched up on how to make a 2D platformer game, with jumping, and walking. With the tutorials though, the jumping didn't work, so I decided to make a game where you don't need to jump, and that began TLS (The. Lonely. Square.)
Above, you can see the link to the download of the original version of TLS, it was a bit weird as you walked on LAVA but I progressed. I worked on Hexagon upgrades, and one was to change your size, but it never worked, then I found out about "localScale" which then got used to make the upgrade work. After some more researching, I got a camera to follow the player, which I thought was pretty cool. Later after that, I decided to make it more realistic and made the floor green for grass, the sky blue, adding trees and changing the "hexagon upgrades" to chests, which disappear and give you a upgrade by changing you size when touched by the player. And that's what I got up to! I'll make some more devlogs like this so you can keep up-to-date with the game and it's updates, bye!
