Dungeon Coup Update 0.4
Hello everyone, I hope you are having a wonderful day!
Today is update day, yay!
Here i am, back again, with a new update for Dungeon Coup! Boy, January is being a complicated month, and I'm not having time to work as much as I love to >_<.
Hopefully within the next 10 days, I will be able to sort all my moving/family/computer problems and I can get back to work full time. Because of this, i don't know if i will be able to put up a good update for KYFC, i will try tho but, let's just say that things are far from optimal right now, but let's get on the update, that is what matters here.
So, what's' new?
Floor 4
The elves floor is here! As selected by player votes, the fourth floor is filled with very dangerous and sexy elves! Be warned they are even more powerful than your enemies in previous floors!
Neko mode
By player request, the beloved option added in Kinky Fight Club, is now on Dungeon Coup! You can now enable or disable Neko mode in the Customization menu. Neko mode adds cat/fox/bunny/wolf ears to your opponents when enabled!
New type of binding
Now you can select the type of wrist bindings that your character will be wearing. In the Customization menu you can choose between two available binding options. Right now you can choose between "front cuffs" and "back cuffs", which are the same cuffs, but your arms positions differ. Every month i will be adding more options for this feature.
Third character slot
One more character slot has been added for you to customize your characters, yay!
Roll
The feature to Roll has been added to the game! You can press R to Roll. Rolling can be used to avoid enemies or traps (if we end up adding traps, more on this below) but consumes 30 energy.
Simplified First Floor
Starting on this update, the First floor will always have all their possible roads to the throne room open. (All 4 will be open, rather than only 2 out of those 4). This should make it easier to complete the first level.
Guidance System fix
The popular player-hated error that caused the guidance arrow to sometimes point upwards when you were close to the pre-throne room has been fixed. It shoudl always point in the right direction now, and it's cooldown has been reduced from 30 seconds to 25.
(this is what happens when I try to take screenshots to showcase the roll)
Performance
Optimized a few things in the scripts, if your computer could reach 60 fps before you won't notice a difference, but if it couldn't you should see a small increment in performance.
Bug Fixes
Almost everything that was reported was fixed, i'm still battling with one particular issue, but with the limited work time that i have right now, i didn't want to delay the game for another week or so because of this.
And that's all of it
There are some smaller things that have changed, but you can find them in the changelog below.
There is something I've been giving some thoughts lately and I still haven't decided what to do, so i'm gonna leave it to player feedback. Originally I wanted to add traps to the game: hard to see ropes in the ground, or even trapped doors or chests, but after a lot of consideration and evaluating the possible outcomes i got to the conclusion that almost all the possible trap effects will only slow down the player's feeling of the game.
And as fun as it sounds for a BDSM themed game to add more restraints to the player, including leg restraints or similar, those would only reduce the player's speed (what point would have a restraint if it doesn't have any effect?) so here i am riddled with 2 possibilities:
1 - Do not add traps, for they mostly will slow down the player in either movement or stamina regeneration.
2- Add traps, even if it means that they will slow down the player in either movement or stamina regeneration.
I will give this a few more thoughts during the next few weeks, and let you guys vote in the poll I will make on saturday.
On other news, with this update Dungeon Coup Phase 1 concludes!
This means that all the basic gameplay features have been added, running, interacting with the environment, sprinting, rolling, etc. Now in Phase 2 i will work heavily in improving those systems, starting with the camera. Im very happy about how this project is progresing. it is slow, but steady!
This does not mean that more features won't be added, but it means that there won't be added more "buttons" or things to the basic gameplay, however more passive things may be added, depending mostly in player feedback. This wouldn't have been possible withouth the support of my fellow players on patreon!
And that's all i got for today, i hope you are having a safe and nice start of the year.
I will be in touch soon with some more news!
Stay safe, have fun and enjoy the game!
Cheers!
