An Important Update Regarding Buddy Simulator 1984 | NEW RELEASE DATE

Buddy Simulator 1984 DEMO
A downloadable game for Windows

Whew, okay, DeMarco here with the difficult task of bearing the bad news! Now, for those of you who just want to see the new release date, it's February 18th! And we are sticking to it, so help me, I will actually like, break my monitor on camera if we fail again (which will suck because it's brand new--THAT'S HOW SERIOUS I AM!)

We have become our worst nightmare--Cyberpunk 1984. This wasn't really an easy decision, especially since this is the third pushback to our release date since we've originally announced that we wanted to release the game in the summer last year. We want to be completely transparent with you all as to why we made this decision.
The biggest factor in this decision was our time management! When planning a project of this scale, it's important to break down every nook and cranny in development. This includes playtesting, bug fixes, and even marketing (which we didn't really give ourselves time for)! We are making great progress with the game, and while we will be able to finish it by our old deadline, we found ourselves crunching to the bone to get it out there. Believe it or not, the last thing we really have to focus on is the soundtrack, which Brandon really wants to dedicate a lot of time towards to make sure it's something he's proud of. He's also our coder. He's.... actually crazy with how much he can do! We don't want to fall into unhealthy practices to make that deadline, especially since we want the release of this to be something we're proud of. For us, a few of the things we didn't account for when budgeting our time were spending the holidays with family, sudden COVID outbreaks affecting people we love, and taking breaks for our mental health.

We've been working all day every day since the summer and we're exhausted, but gosh, we are so excited. We wouldn't have been able to do it without the wonderful support from our fans. Having such a wonderful fanbase for a studio who hasn't even released a full game yet is just... so unreal. It's both extremely wonderful and very terrifying, especially since we're brand new to game dev as a whole.

Thank you to everyone who puts up with our unprofessional indie shenanigans. We're so thankful for all of your support on this crazy game dev learning experience for us.
I think I love you...
Just kidding...
Unless...
