Christmas update is here!

For quite a while I had struggled with the gameplay aspect of the game. It's supposed to be a mix between a fishing game and a vn, but I never managed to blend the two. This update is my new attempt at that. Fishing will now be done through tasks/quests. Completing these will unlock new interactions, map zones and dialogue. Hopefully this will provide a sense of progression and clear cut goals for the player to work towards.

The map itself is partway through a redesign as I experiment with different art styles. I quite like the new look but it still requires a lot of work.

I am also working on "hugs" as a feature, and an early implementation is in this update.

I had planned a new story chapter as well but my writer bailed at the last minute so I couldn't finish it in time.

Known bugs: If you grab her fishing rod, she gets stuck in the animation cycle for fishing.


As it turns out, long updates don't actually produce more content. It seems like the more time I have to do something, the more time I waste. I have a tendency to over-promise and under-deliver so I'll be trying to keep that in check from now on as well.

Next update will be before new years, fixing bugs with the current version and adding things that didn't fit into this update, mainly hug interactions.
