As promised, I've just released the final demo of the year! Latest features include:
-- A Carrier enemy -- it doesn't shoot back (yet) but is still dangerous as a collision hazard due to its immense size.
-- Battleships and Bombers can now be destroyed piece-by-piece. This took the longest to do, but I think the end result was worth it. You simply don't see many top-down shooters where enemies have differing levels of detail for damage. Especially minor enemies.
-- Fixed a minor bug where the Battleship HP would go negative.
Realistically speaking, I'd say that Scrapship is 75% done and my goal is to have it finished next year.
As "simple" as this game is, I might not have made even this far if it weren't for the feedback and support of two consistently loyal followers of this project:
Both of these guys have made impressive games (plural!) of their own this year, all of which can be played here on Itch.
My day job might be busy next year, but Lord willing, I'm aiming to have Scrapship completely finished before the end of 2021.
Until next time, Happy Holidays!
