Final day is tomorrow, guys!!!
I mean, I can still upload stuff till monday 4:59am, but I'm not sure I will be able to not sleep on sunday to do this, so I might make two builds tomorrow, one in the morning and the final one in the evening, and make a last retrospective for you guys.
I think we have pretty much the whole core gameplay done now. You start in your office, get a quest(that's not done), go to a infested spaceship, kill the infection, retrieve some ancient technological artifact, get back to your office, and receive some form of reward, in this case a new weapon developed using the tech you aquired.
I've written some narrative text for when you receive such an item, tell me what you think:
"This lost human technology will be great for the company assets, good job, Bugbuster!
After spending many overnight hours our scientists were able to recover lots of information regarding it's contents. After that, our team of unpaid intern engineers developed this "Imperial Machinegun" with a design inspired by past civilizations for your arsenal.
We hope that with this addition you will be able to kill even more space bugs. A 30% increase in work efficiency is expected from your part. Remember that if you don't meet our company requirements you will receive a notice from our legal department regarding contract break, in which legal consequences may include death by hanging.
Have a great day and good hunting!"
I think that already gives a lot of the atmosphere of comedy I want for the game narrative.
We are still missing music, sounds and menus as well so I might do that today too. I also want to add some small things that make player experience better, like muzzle flash, weapon animation, fade transition between levels, maybe some screenshake, and also add props and make stuff more interesting.
I don't know if I will be able to add more content like more weapons and enemies, but I think I will try to make the levels interesting to play with just 3 weapons and 2 enemies, which is what we have now.
Thanks for reading so far, and happy hunting!
