Been over a year since the SH remake demo. Life took some bad turns for me after that, delaying everything. As I began to recover, life took a bad turn for us all. I'd rather not get into the details so lets carry on.
I always made my games in UPBGE - a fork of the blender game engine- , and I wanted to continue to do so, and I did. Made some nice progress in my ability since the SH demo. However, it does not truly have the capability to deliver the kind of experiences I want to build, not matter how much time I put into optimization. It will always be sub par.
I have moved to the Unreal Engine.
This happened because I wanted to make a small game for Halloween to be played at my job, which is a VR arcade type of business. I made a demo based on a game I was already working on in blender (THE END) in about 4 days. It turns out we didnt really have an event that night, but I showed it to my bosses and coworkers after closing hours anyway.
