First off, to get it out of the way, we've got a small handful of fixes:
Some may know, but the final three songs we shipped the game with are not the same ones we used throughout most of development.
Those songs were, instead:
We might lack the rights to distribute the songs, but we figured... why not give you the choreography files??
If you have these songs from any other legally-obtained source, they can be imported into The Choreographist! Open up that Custom Songs folder and just add music!
Because The Choreographist uses a three-step note mapping, and many other games use a four-step mapping, our original approach to allowing tracks from other games was a bit lazy. Up became up; down became down; and both left and right became Mid. This could result in looooooooooooooooong strings of repeated mid lane notes that didn't feel so great.
That isn't true anymore! A tiny musical AI choreographer, nestled deep within this game, now maps 4-step to 3-step tracks in a much superior way. I'm not saying it couldn't be better or anything... but I think it works real nice.
So go! Pull in StepMania and Metronomicon and DWI tracks!
Go forth and music!
