#Medieval Edition #Prototype Update
Hi all -
I've exhibited a past tendency to release early, and release often. I'm continuing this with the Medieval Edition - but note, I'm making no guarantees about the completeness of this version. I think it is playable, and I think there's enough stuff there to try it - but there is a lot of very significant changes. If you are not familiar with 18XX games, there are omissions in this rulebook that will probably be too much. The stock round rules, for instance, currently consist of a 'todo' referring to how you play 1830. I've tried to make the differences between other 18xx games clear, but I'm still missing bits if you're learning from 'first principals'.
As you can see, the pretty parts of the board are, unfortunately, gone. Whilst I am prototyping the new edition, they are unhelpful, as they require far more changes. When I'm settled on the map, I'll work on art again to make it as pretty as I can. I am glad to show that it is reduced to 4 A4 sheets (one A2 sheet), including the phase tracker and market.
It's late, so I'll spend some time talking about my decisions later - but the gist:
This is, practically speaking, a new game. It is a massive shift in 18Dracula. I'm hoping it provides me the platform to really make 18Dracula something I'm proud of.
