Devlog 1: Hello world!
Disk Fortress is a game that came about by accident. I was going to have the player be able to fire off disks that bounce around a room, but the collision got wonky. The disks stopped immediately upon hitting a wall, and that's when the idea hit me: I should use used ammo as an extra game mechanic.
A good game mechanic can be used in more than one way. In this case, you use disks to kill zombies. BUT! Every time you kill a zombie, your disk becomes a hazard for you to avoid. It also acts as a spike trap against zombies.
So I guess that is three uses for one mechanic. The disks kill enemies, create walls, and provide something extra for the player to avoid.
