Another 2400 microgame, Eos, is now uploaded. This is my second Mass Effect homage, and I hope it fills in some of the gaps left by Xenolith. Given that in other 2400 games aliens only come up as rumors or in ruins, I thought I should focus more narrowly on setting up concept of there being an "interstellar community," with playable alien characters. With that out of the way, I figured Eos had enough room to breathe. It's focused on a human crew, offering....
Just to anticipate one question I imagine will come up: What the heck does it mean that you can be "inspired" by your bond with a crewmate? Well, if you spend your downtime getting chummy with the pilot, I don't expect there will be much opportunity to get a bonus die from her directly on ground team missions—but maybe that last conversation you had will help you think of something to try when you need it most, or a flashback will inspire you to make sure the ship (and everyone on it) don't get turned into slag, or something. Honestly, I left that one pretty intentionally open to interpretation, and I'm hoping to hear what you do with it.
As a side note, the newly uploaded ZIP file includes a new version of every 2400 game, as I just replaced the typeface across the line. (The body type was Roboto Condensed, but is now URW DIN, which is on sale for an amazingly low price in a bundle for a few more days.) I left the title and headings in DIN 1451 because I like the 2's and S's better. I am that kind of nerd.
