#launch #asset #guide #info
My first project posted on itch is live.
I would like to provide information in this launch post too. Concerning scaling up the elements and slicing them for bigger resolutions. This has been the main complaint I have received over the years. So here is how to scale up the UI and slice it presented in video format:
Using Photoshop with keybind Actions will save you tons of time when you have to do it over and over again. Especially when it comes to slicing the UI. So make the Actions and their keybinds. This is the method I use to slice all my GUIs:
1. Have your Smart Object or Vector Layer present.
2. Resize them (Ctrl + T) or Edit them if you need to.
3. Press F2 (of whatever key you have designated) for New Layer
4. Select both and press Ctrl + E to flatten them.
5. Press Ctrl + A to Select all with Marching Ants.
6. Press Ctrl + X to Cut the Image.
7. Press Ctrl + N for new document and set Background to Transparent. Press Enter. (PS should remember this same settings for next slice)
8. Ctrl + V to Paste it in.
9. Ctrl + Shift + Alt + S to Export it as PNG or whatever other Extension.
10. Give it a name, and press Enter.
11. Ctrl+W to close the unwanted PSD. (You can use the left or right arrow keys followed with an Enter to press "No" on the pop up box.)
12. Repeat for all other elements.
