Over the weekend I was able to flesh out some more enemies as well as the beginnings of a level for the players to play around in. The enemies are thematically spread across heaven and hell, as both are interested parties in reclaiming the player's soul. The first is a heavenly lightning strike that is well telegraphed:

I've also managed to build the beginnings of a level that rewards the player for utilizing their skills and reaching "hidden" places. The actual rewards is something I have yet to figure out, as of right now the player's health is constantly draining throughout the level and they need to keep moving and collecting small health orbs that allow them to heal to stay alive. These health orbs are not enough of an incentive to keep exploring the level so another reward needs to devised.
The level itself explores vertically and different branching paths and I want to keep it that way so that the player can choose which path they want depending on their skill level. And since it is #Blocktober here's a blockout of the level in it's current state.
