The fifth 2400 microgame, Exiles, is up. I don't know how to describe the genre, but I'll say that I've really been digging Ultraviolet Grasslands and Acid Death Fantasy lately. The game sees the characters stranded on a quarantine planet under orbital blockade, isolated due to nebulously-defined "plagues." (Of nanites? Diseases? Mutating radiation? I'm nothing if not vague!) The galactic economy doesn't count for much here, so instead of doing jobs for credits, you'll have to do jobs and barter for pieces of (sometimes quite heavy) salvage, including the weird xenotech left behind by whoever occupied this planet before humans arrived.
The bulk of the player-facing stuff on this one is a list of 20 backgrounds and 32 starting items, following the lead of lovably strange games like Troika! and Electric Bastionland (and, again, Acid Death Fantasy). And on the GM side, I figured you didn't need as many "twists"—the whole world is kind of a twist, really—so I threw in 20 more strange items to go fetch.
Please feel free to let me know if you happen to get it to the table!
