#ludum dare #gamejam
Hey fellow devs and gamers!
It's already autumn and the Ludum Dare #47 game jam just ended (or started, the game and rate phase is a lot of work as well) and after we did Friendly Fire in the last Jam in spring we finished our new entry: HYPERLOOP! We build upon the custom typescript engine we created during the development of Friendly Fire and pumped it up to support a lot of new features, mainly the dynamic lighting system, native tiled support and a new collision system.
The theme was 'Stuck in a loop' and we went for a play on words to create a game where you are stuck in a hyperloop train. The genre could be described as a horror action game with a little humor to round things up. The three days were fun and hell at the same time, but in the end, we were actually very happy with the result. A single play through is rather short but encapsulates everything we wanted to achieve to an extent. Balancing is still a huge issue but we intend to work on it post jam. Stay tuned!
