Q. Where can I get the game?

I will never upload the game files anywhere else. If you downloaded or received it from another source, I will not be responsible if your computer gets a malware.

Q. Do I have to pay to play the game?

No, the game is free, and it will always be free.

Q. How do I download the game?

Please note that the game is built and optimized to be played on a computer.

Firstly, figure out what device you’re using to play. Next, check the OS your device is using.
With the information you have, check the following:

1. ✅  Windows: bnhaotomegame-1.0-pc.zip
2. ✅  Mac: bnhaotomegame-1.0-mac.zip
3. ✅  Linux: bnhaotomegame-1.0-linux.tar.bz2
4. ⚠️ Android: com.kkkatrin.bnhaotomegamedemo-100-universal-release.apk
5. ⚠️ Chromebook: according to this information you should be able to download the Android file and play it in your Chromebook
6. 🚫 iPhone and iPad: NOT SUPPORTED

If you’re having any problems downloading the game, you can try to download itch.io app and try to download from there, or reach out to itch.io support for help.

Q. I downloaded the game. How can I open the game?

Please note that the game is built and optimized to be played on a computer.

Firstly, figure out what device you’re using to play. Next, check the OS your device is using.
With the information you have, check the following:

1. ✅  Windows:
   1. Unzip / Extract the file
   2. Open the folder that appeared after unzip process is done
   3. Double click on the Application / .exe file. The file name should be something like 'bnhaotomegame.exe'
2. ✅  Mac / Linux:
   1. Unzip / Extract the file by double clicking the downloaded file
   2. Double click on the file that appeared after unzip process is done. The file name should be something like 'bnhaotomegame'
   3. If you receive error saying that the system can't open the app because the developer is unidentified, do this
3. ⚠️ Android: I don’t own this device and am not sure how it works. If someone could help to provide step-by-step explanations, that would be great!
4. ⚠️ Chromebook: I don’t own this device and am not sure how it works, but I found this guide. If it doesn't work, consult Google.
5. 🚫 iPhone and iPad: NOT SUPPORTED

Q. Why are iPhone and iPad not supported? Will it be supported in the future?

As per RenPy's documentation here, I would have to be an Apple developer and have to go through Apple's App Store approval process, which according to what I have heard, is a long and arduous process. So yeah, I don't think I have the patience and want to invest the time for having this published in that platform. Not now and not in the future.

Q. How do I play the game?

Use your keyboard when you first start the game to input your name, then hit Enter key to proceed. 
Use mouse clicks or hit the keyboard’s Enter or Space key to advance the dialog.
Use mouse clicks or hit the keyboard’s Up/Down/Enter button to select choices.

Q. Can I share the game?

Yes, definitely, but please direct them to download directly from itch.io!
Seeing as different OSs need to download different files, it would be best if you just link them there directly. And please don’t share the files directly -- I don’t want to have a case where people come to me to say ‘a friend gave me your game and now my computer isn’t working because of a virus’ 😅

Q. Can you translate the game to <language here>?

No.

Firstly, I probably don't speak the language you're referring to (for your reference, I only speak Indonesian and English fluently). Secondly, I've looked it up and it's a lot of work translating a game, especially when the full game has dialogs which won't be detectable in RenPy, which means I would have to manually go through one by one to revise the script and test out if everything works correctly. I repeat: It's a lot of work and I'm not interested to invest my time into that.

However, if you are interested in doing all that work (which means, you have to do translation and coding work), you can contact me. I wouldn't mind sharing the source code with you so you can work on it yourself, under the condition that:

1. You still have to mention me and link it to this original game. I think it's fair, because while you did the translation yourself, it doesn't change the fact that the overall base code, ideas, original story writing, assets gathering, etc. was worked by me. In turn, I will add a link to your project in this original game's page.
2. You take it as a completely separate project you will have to maintain yourself. That includes setting up an itch.io page, promoting the game, tackling any issues the player encounters, etc. If something works in the original game and it doesn't work in your game after translation, then it's not going to be my problem.
3. The game has to be free. If people want to support your work in general, donate a few bucks, that's completely fine. But the game itself has to be downloadable with no cost.
4. You are a translator, or at least can speak fluently for both English and <language here>. Machine translation is a no-no.

Q. Can you add <character name> route?

No.

Q. When do you think you'll be done with / release the full game?
