My submission for this jam. Overall I'm pretty proud of it.
I had to cut development time a little short, but I think I actually might do some post-jam updates to this.
First of all, a large part of the game is using combos in captures to boost your score. I'm afraid a lot of people won't know to capture rather than kill, or aim for multi-captures, or to stun enemies to make them easier to catch. I didn't have time to work all that into the in-game instructions, and I figure most people won't read the on-screen hints telling them this.
So, I'd like to really update the visuals/feedback on successful captures, and really make the scores earned be obvious, to encourage score competition. I'd even like to make an online leaderboard if possible.
Aside from that, I think the ship design needs to really be done well. I wound up keeping my standin assets because I ran out of time, but I'd love to maybe do some 3D modeled characters.
