Stuff I've worked on in the past week:
End Of Demo Widget
You can see this widget in the previous demo I made for my school project. It will appear when the player kills Sevarog to show the demo is over. I've changed it a little bit because I've added controller support for menus.
Here is a video of it (I've set Sevarog's health really low for testing purposes):
Door Interaction Meesage
Previously, doors would show a default interaction message when the player got close to them even if the player didn't have the key for it. This was confusing because the door would just not open for appearingly no reason. Added some code to indicate that the door needs a key.

Equipment Controller Support
Finally added controller support for the equipment UI window. Now the player can change gear with a controller.

Plans For Upcoming Weeks
I've started modeling an armor set but I've decided not to continue working on it because it would take a long time. I've decided to find an armor pack from the market place for the demo and found one. However its a little too expensive and I'm going to wait for it to go on sale.
Here is the link of the pack I'm talking about if you are interested: https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/ravens-s2-templar-knight
I will also change the checkpoint model with a particle effect. I've asked a friend who knows particles better then me if he could make one for me and he accepted but I will have to wait like a week.
For the particle effect, I'm thinking something like this but in the air:
It will be small when the checkpoint isn't used and expend when the player uses it.
Some Notes
Demo is coming along and I'm guessing I will count it "finished" soon. I'm planning to add a camera effect to the start of the level for a smooth transition from the main menu to the game in addition to the stuff I already mentioned in the "plans for upcoming weeks" section in this post.
That's it for this week and see you next week!
