#Introduction #0
Welcome to the 0th Hack FPS devlog! This is more of an introduction than an actual devlog, but I decided to make it anyway, because why not? Considering this is Hack FPS's introduction, it's probably a good time to tell you what Hack FPS even is. Hack FPS is a First Person Shooter (obviously). Your objective is to hack enemies and use their abilities to get to the end of the level (Yes, I just copied the description from my game page).
A while before I even posted a single game on itch, I was already planning ideas for this project. I decided to use unity for this, since I was pretty familiar with it. I originally thought of a medieval styled game where you fought enemies with a sword and a bow (Pretty far off from an FPS). After that horribly failed, I thought of a multiplayer FPS where you have to knock opponents off a platform. However, I couldn't get the networking and physics to function properly. Finally, I thought of a single-player FPS where you perform mass genocide on a colony of robots. I actually got pretty far before I ended up scrapping the idea.
After all of these failed attempts, I decided to just make a simple game and add ideas along the way. Before that however, I realized I needed to think of a core feature for the game that would make it stand out. After all, it wouldn't do well as just a boring FPS. After a few minutes of brainstorming, I realized it would be really cool if you could take control of your enemies after you kill them. And so, the game was born!
