Oh my goodness, summer is almost over...
We're looking to start a monthly tradition here of listing 3 games that have inspired some part of Crestpeak Bay to varying degrees. So without further ado, here is this month's Inspiration Roundup!
The Persona series wasn't just innovative for it JRPG elements. The day-to-day life sim aspect was a great framing for the story and at its core it had a very simple but effective gameplay loop. We're looking to bring a lot of that to Crestpeak with our own flavor and rich, engaging characters.
There have been many iterations of these two ranging a variety of genres. Superstar Saga was unique in its presentation, stepping out of a lot of the conventions in the same way other games like Paper Mario did. While the lessons in smart development are plenty, it has an example of a solid puzzle minigame in Bink's Barrels.
When it comes to excellent character dialogue, Planescape Torment stands tall more than 20 years after its release. While its age shows in its polish and gameplay, the writing is still something that every developer should learn from.
We'd love to hear from you what games have been inspiring you recently!
