What is a Game Design Document?
It is a set of notes going over the game being developed: what is planned, idea concepts, etc. While it may not seem like much, design documents are very helpful and important for a game's development, especially for a large project. It makes teams understand what each person is working on and even for solo development it's good to have something to look back to as you progress - even if just to be sure you don't overlook anything. Lastly, a design document can also be used to pique an audience or publishers' interest in a project and further support for it. Since this game project is relying on the public's support increase the rate of development, I therefore have decided to share this document publicly.
