FOUND — Update 0.4.81
(everything since 0.4.80)
A living research camp, waking up in your own bed, a new beech forest, all caves rebuilt with new PSX models, a better map and a much softer death.
Research camp
- The camp has no fence or gate any more. In front of it there is a dig yard with dig sites and a research table. The yard is part of the safe area.
- Researchers walk around and work: by day they leave their tents, stop at the fire, then go to their spot and dig with a shovel (two-handed, soil flies). They are now as tall as you.
- Coloured tunnel tents with guy ropes, work lights on tripods over the dig sites, festoon bulbs and sagging cables between poles.
Waking up
- The intro ends with you waking up in your own bed in the camp. Dying also wakes you there.
- Skipping the intro with Enter gives a short wake-up instead of a black screen.
- The wake-up talk is back, and the H hint no longer shows during the intro.
Death
- You keep your hotbar when you die; only the bag drops.
- New red horror death screen; Enter wakes you up.
- Zombies and animals stop attacking a dead player.
- Your grave is a stone border with a cairn and a red flag.
Forest: beech trees
- About a third of forest trees are now beech trees, plus extra beeches filling the gaps.
- New undergrowth: low bushes, rocks, stones and mushrooms you can pick up with E.
- Beech saplings break in 2 hits and give 2 sticks. Sapling hitboxes are thin and exact.
- Cactus only grows deep in the desert, not on grass.
Caves
- The underground cave, the sunken lake cave and the pirate hold are rebuilt with new PSX cave models: textured rock, real collision, lamps, and new crevice entrances in the forest, the lake and on the coast.
- Fixed: leaving the pirate hold (volcanic cave) put you back inside the coastal crevice and you got stuck. You now come out in front of it.
Map
- Mouse wheel / + - zoom, drag to pan, right click places a marker.
- Big outlined player arrow, clear hint strip; the HUD and hotbar hide while the map is open.
Other
- Thirst blurs your view when it gets low.
- UI and HUD scale go up to 200 %; stats move above the hotbar when they would overlap.
- Peeing no longer puts out the campfire; it only matters for a grass fire.
- Softer clouds.
- Slimmer quest card, bike bay with a gravel pad.
